La Petite EscalèrePublication #3
This booklet is the third of a series that explores the history, evolution and activities of La Petite Escalère. This series is a living memory of the site by providing in each issue a different image of the garden—its many variations and changes over the seasons and years. It also highlights its activities and programs—artists residencies, exhibitions and cultural events, outreach programs for children, students and the underprivileged.
This new volume documents the second year of the residency program developed by the non-for-profit Friends of La Petite Escalère with the support of the French State (Cultural Ministry – DRAC Aquitaine) and the Aquitaine Region.
Every spring and fall, La Petite Escalère invites artists from different disciplines and offers them an exceptional setting for research and creation.
In 2013, La Petite Escalère hosted German artist Sarah Bahr and French writer Lancelot Hamelin. The following pages contain the images and words that reflect their experience and present the work they developed there.
