Julie Navarro
Visual artist

Julie Navarro has been selected for the Spring 2018 joint residency between La Petite Escalère and the non-for-profit voyons voir | art contemporain et territoire in the Aix-en-Provence region. This residency program aims to explore two territories shaped by the presence of water as a natural element structuring at once landscapes and human activities. Navarro will spend a month at LPE in March 2018 and a month at the Domain de Surriane, close to the Etang de Berre, with voyons voir.

With this joint residency, LPE and vv hope the artist will discover and question their two sites, their differencies and common features—history, landscape, usage and practice—as two challenges, two grounds for imagination and creation.

The selection committee was comprised of representants from both organisations along with distinguished art professionals, artists and environnemental experts.
