The next Open House weekend at La Petite Escalère will take place on October 10 and 11, 2015.

At this occasion, we propose two events:

During the whole week-end
LPE Garage
Wash, 2011-12, a short film by French American artist Suzanne Husky.

Currently artist-in-residence at Nekatoenea, Hendaye, French American visual artist Suzanne Husky that has been living and practicing in the Bay Area and France since 2000. Her work sits between the age old perception of a broken original bond with “nature” to the blind exploitation of it as resource and tackles how humans engage with nature from prehistory to now.
The artist will be present.

Jacques Abeille | Les jardins statuaires
Reading and dialogue with Pierre Vilar

La Petite Escalère welcomes French writer Jacques Abeille for a reading and dialogue around his seminal novel Les jardins statuaires published in 2010 by Le Tripode editions, with Pierre Vilar, assistant professor at the UPPA-Bayonne in Contemporary Literature.
Art teacher, painter, poet and novelist, Jacques Abeille was the recipient of the Wepler prize Special Mention in 2010 and of the Jean Arp Francophone literature Lifetime Achievement Award

Pascal Convert
In conversation with Didier Arnaudet

Released in May 2015 by Confluences editions, Didier Arnaudet’s new publication, Pascal Convert, Commence alors la grande lumière du Sud-Ouest, will be the starting point of a conversation between the artist and the art writer and curator around the work Pascal Convert develops for the past 30 years and more specifically, his sculptures exhibited in the garden this season.

In partnership with the Jakin bookstore, Bayonne.
